Why are links to your web site important?
Links to your web site improve the link popularity of your web site. If your web site has good incoming links, the ranking of your web pages will increase on major search engines. Google has an official statement about this topic:
"PageRank interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote for Page B by Page A. PageRank then assesses a page's importance by the number of votes it receives. PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value. Important pages receive a higher PageRank and appear at the top of the search results. Google's technology uses the collective intelligence of the web to determine a page's importance."
Basically, this means that your web site will get better rankings if many other web sites that are related to your own web site link to your site.

I have built "Link exchange Organizer" CF-based application so you can see it in action here. How it works: Reciprocal links submitted by visitors appear immediately on appropriate dynamic page. After reviewed and approved, it will also be included into static html page regenerated once a week. (This behavior can be setup as adjustable to match your link exchange policy.) Link Exchange Organizer will check backlinks automatically upon submission and then once a week (interval is adjustable from admin side) remove those partners who failed to provide link to your site on their end if backlink is not in place after a number of checks (adjustable, defaulted to 30 days). It is possible to turn on/off backlink checking for each link partner individually. Administrator gets notified by email when someone places link on your site so you can review and remove undesirable links if any upon review. User (link partner) gets notified when his link gets moved between categories by administrator with exact new link location URL.

PLEASE NOTE: your submitted reciprocal link must comply the following Link Exchange Rules:

• Your site must be relevant to CF-Works site as well as backlink you provided in case of indirect link exchange (please IT-related sites only);
• The link must be not further than in 2 clicks from home page;
• The backlink you provide must be a true link to us ("http://www.cf-works.com") and not like "http://www.yoursite.com/links/goto.php?id=92";
• There should not be more than 100 links on the backlink page.
• If backlink you provided is going to float across your links pages then it will not be found by backlink validator and hence your link will be automatically deleted from CF-Works directory. So please do not change original backlink location without notifying us.
